Seizin the Day was born from my own seizure recovery. I was in the grocery store with my husband. I had two black eyes from a cluster of seizures the day before. I didn't know which was worse, the looks of pity I was receiving, or the looks of disgust my husband was being thrown.
I wanted to shout that I'm not a battered wife, but an uncontrolled epileptic.
I live with epilepsy, and I wanted to turn that dark, scary space into something lighter and more honest — something that could actually help.
